Summary of key points

1

A little activity is better than no activity at all – try to avoid being inactive and resume your normal activities as much as you can.

2

Aim to do exercise that improves muscle strength, which can include heavy gardening, carrying heavy shopping or using weights at home, on at least two days of the week.

3

You should aim to slowly build up your amount of weekly exercise.

4

Remember, every bit of extra activity helps, whether it is spending less time sitting, or dancing to the radio.
